I wanted to let you know that the article about you in the Daily Mail is circulating here in the US. I had several people send it to me. More importantly, to me, it’s circulating here in Chicago. Our own Dr. Burt’s backyard. I’m hoping it puts some pressure on here in my home too!! Thanks again & prayers for a speedy recovery.

Hope Puebla goes really well for you! Am discovering that the recovery is more challenging than the treatment phase – when you’re in Puebla, the doctors and staff are great. Back home, the NHS here isn’t sure how to deal with MS-ers who’ve had a stem cell transplant as it doesn’t fit their template! Prayers that your treatment heals you too. And be good to yourself in recovery – my challenge now is not to race around too much and overdo things just because I can! Caroline
Hello Caroline. I have been looking for you all over the world. I am the mother of Andrea (29) and grandmother of her daughter, Juliana (8 months). We live in Mexico city and have a friend that had stem cell transplant with Dr Ruiz in Puebla for cancer and is incredibly well.
Andrea was diagnosed in 2005 and since then I have been studying and reading about MS. She is in perfect condition know but under Gylenia, a strong drug that worries me for its secondary effects.
A friend of ours was under Dr. Ruiz´s treatment and they recommended him to us but Andrea´s doctor (Dr Rivera in Houston Tx.) told us that these kind of treatments are not approved yet and that we should not try it.
When I heard about you, I wanted to get in touch with you so you could tell me a little bit more about it.

I’m so sorry to hear your daughter has MS. All I can say is that the standard of care with Dr Ruiz in Puebla was exemplary. The treatment and recovery from HSCT are both tough but it does help the majority of patients halt MS progression. My last MRI after the treatment showed no new lesions, which for me was amazing! But there are serious risks to HSCT, so it’s a difficult balance…
Have to say that this has been a tough year. Lots of improvements initially and I felt really well in the first few months straight after HSCT but it now feels as though a lot of the MS has returned. Onwards… Hopefully 2019 will be better!
